Our client, a global manufacturing company, is looking to hire an experienced Service Engineer to act as the technical prime for OEMs, Distributors and Customer for diagnosis, maintenance, repair, reporting and failure analysis of engines in remanufacturing products.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Analyze and resolve complex OEM and Distributor service concerns
· Travel to customer sites as required to identify and verify issues and causes
· Perform hands on failure analysis and create technical reports
· Conduct root cause analysis leveraging industry established techniques
· Investigate engine component failures and identify possible failure trends. Analyze past warranty information for insights
· Perform trend analysis to identify risks of high failure parts
· Identify opportunities that will result in product/process improvement
· Perform BOM comparisons and makes recommendations on material substitutions
· Coordinate investigation activities with the Warranty and Parts Departments as required
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Technical/Automotive field with a minimum of 5 years work experience diagnosing customer engine concerns
· Extensive experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting diesel, gas, and LPG engine issues
· Thorough knowledge of the engineering and mechanics involved in the installation and operation of diesel and gasoline engines
· Ability to utilize test equipment and diagnose engine and component failures
· Ability to design and implement field service processes
· Experience writing technical documentation
· Experience with industry standard root cause analysis tools, for example, 8-D, Fishbone, 5-Why or FMEA
· Advanced excel skills for data analysis and reporting
· Ability to travel approximately 35% of the time, domestically and internationally
