Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and autonomous Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in designing and developing high-performance industrial vacuum systems.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Perform detailed structural analyses to ensure the mechanical integrity, safety, and reliability of vacuum system components.
• Review and interpret customer specifications to ensure clear understanding and alignment with project requirements.
• Lead clarification and project kick-off meetings with customers to define and confirm technical specifications and expectations.
• Take full ownership of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to internal processes and effective timeline management.
• Select appropriate materials and components based on system specifications.
• Create general arrangement (GA) drawings, P&ID, GA exploded views, and detail assembly instructions to support manufacturing and assembly.
• Create part numbers and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the company’s ERP system.
• Conduct duct loss calculations to design efficient tubing and fitting layout for vacuum systems.
• Collaborate with the R&D team to support new product development initiatives.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate, source system components.
• Support product testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with performance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with internal teams including production and supply chain to ensure smooth product development.
• Ensure all designs meet applicable industry standards and certifications.
• Provide technical support to customers, as well as internal production and sales teams.
• Design and develop mechanical components for industrial vacuum systems.
• Contribute on continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing existing designs for better efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and productivity.
Qualifications:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P. Eng) license is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the vacuum systems industry.
• Knowledge of vacuum pumps & piping systems.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
